v2023.17 Release Notes

Our August 30th 2023 release, v2023.17, introduces: importing and exporting Segments; descriptions for custom customer attributes; additional clarity in the Account Updated Event; increased long code quantity for SMS outreaches; and pagination when viewing your Users and Permissions.

For additional information on these updates please read the Segments, Data Source Mappings, Events, and Settings sections of this article. We have also introduced a usability enhancement for your Dashboard by limiting the date range that you can select to only the range that the Dashboard retains.

Dashboard

The Dashboard is a great way to get information on your operations at a glance. However, it will only display data that occurred within the last 30 days. As a result, you can no longer select a date range that is greater than 30 days to avoid potential confusion.

Segments

When using a sandbox environment, or moving information across different organizations, recreating work that has already been created can be time-consuming. Therefore we have added the capability to import and export Segments. When exporting a Segment, you will be prompted to download a JSON file. After downloading, you can click the Import button in the top-right of your Segment Screen. After uploading your JSON file, you will have to map attributes to ensure your Segment is utilizing the correct attributes during evaluation.

Data Source Mappings

When creating a new Custom Customer Attribute, it is important to know the intention of the attribute for both other users and your future self. Therefore, we have added the capability to add a description to your attributes. You can not add a description to existing attributes, but you will be able to for new attributes. In future releases, this description will likely be surfaced in other areas of the Symend Platform.

Events

Learn more - Events

When investigating the reason behind an Account Updated Event, it may be critical for you to understand precisely why it occurred. Because of this, we have enhanced the precision of information in an Account Updated Event, both in Customer Trail and Exports. In particular, this means that the Source Name Property will be populated with more specific information as to why an account was updated. The Source Name Property will now be populated with the Campaign, Landing Page, or file name.

Respectively, this depends on whether the update is due to a Modify Attribute Control, Landing Page Form, or file import.

Using the Symend Platform will lead to increased success with your customers. This means you will likely want to increase the volume of customers you are serving using our Platform. As that volume increases, it is very likely that you will need to send an increasing number of text messages. Therefore, we have allowed for usage of up to 20 long-code phone numbers from which your customers will receive a text message, instead of the 10 previously. Additionally, we have also introduced pagination to the list of users that you can see when accessing the Users and Permissions section of your Settings.
