v2024.01 Release Notes

Our January 2, 2024 release v2024.01 introduces two major improvements which include:

  • The ability to create highly extensible and configurable file names within both the export and data import designer to streamline the data transfer setup.

  • The ability to quickly preview segments and content from the playbook designer to improve the overall playbook implementation and review process.

Ability to handle more variance in Data Source naming patterns

Clients and their technical teams have nearly unlimited ways that they can name a file when they are creating the processes that will generate this data for import into Symend, or when considering their needs for exports. This near complete flexibility means that Symend needs to be able to handle a lot of variance, while still being able to successfully identify and configure these files.

Previously, our naming configuration was rigid and imposed requirements on users that they often cannot align with. This meant they either needed to re-engage their own technical teams to rename the Data Source or work with Symend to find custom solutions.

With this release, there is now more flexibility in file naming options by reducing the number of required inputs to the absolute minimum, while providing greater control over the order in which naming components can be configured in their file name.

Users now have the ability to:

  • Configure the settings for my File Name in a single step, before configuring the File’s contents in a separate and isolated step. Therefore reducing the confusion of similar fields that have different impacts.

  • Configure an Import File’s Name and Export File’s name in a highly customizable way

You can observe here the streamlined process of configuring an export files name conventions and patterns.

Display segment rules and content from the Playbook Designer

Previously, users were limited to only seeing the names of segments and content used in the playbook designer. This was insufficient context and forced users to navigate to the content/segment designer to view the resource in the level of detail required to support the workflow.

With this release, the experience of designing a playbook has been drastically improved. Users can now:

  • Click a trigger in every location in the playbook designer where there is a selected segment and open a modal displaying a read-only version of the selected segment’s name and rules from within the playbook canvas, and navigate directly to an editable version of that resource.

  • Click a trigger in every location in the playbook designer where there is a selected piece of content and open a modal displaying a read-only version of the selected piece of content from within the playbook canvas, and navigate directly to an editable version of that resource.
